Football (soccer) enjoys enormous popularity at Oakhill College with boys and girls teams competing in the ISA Soccer Competition. The season runs across Terms 2 and 3 with home games being played at Oakhill College and away games played at a number of schools across the Sydney Metropolitan area and surrounds on Saturday mornings. Online registration opens in Term 1.
At Oakhill, soccer is played by students in Years 7 – 12 with no limits on the number of teams we can field. All students who want to represent the College in ISA soccer will be placed in a team. Oakhill has enjoyed increasing success across many of its soccer teams in recent years.
An important part of the success, which the football club has enjoyed in previous years, is the support it receives from parents. Parents interested in coaching or managing a team are encouraged to do so. Experience is not essential, but enthusiasm for the education of our young players is.
Joining a football team is a great way to start at the College. You will meet new friends, keep fit and play against some of the best schools in Sydney. I would encourage any student interested in representing Oakhill next year to register early February.
School Vs. Club
Whilst sport is not compulsory at Oakhill, students are encouraged to represent the College in their sport of choice. Students selected in representative football teams can request dispensation from the Sportsmaster. If students have a clash with Club and Oakhill teams, preference must be given to Oakhill. Students registering for Oakhill are expected to fulfill their weekend and training commitments.
